The service backs your data up to Acronis’s secure data centres located globally, though for my client’s data is primarily backed up to the London data centre, then replicated to one of the European centres for redundancy. Security of your data is of paramount importance to Carbonlite IT and Acronis. As such all backups configured by Carbonlite IT Solutions are fully encrypted using 256bit AES encryption both whilst in transit to the Acronis data centres and also whilst at rest in those locations. Carbonlite IT Solutions configures your backups with the following retention strategy:
Monthly Backups (1st of the Month): kept for 6 months
Weekly Backups (Sunday): kept for 4 weeks
Daily Backups: kept for 7 days
We believe this provides the best compromise between data security and storage consumption. If you have different requirements, please let us know.
