Absolutly nothing uh hu? To paraphrase Edwin Starr….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bit unfair though, Microsoft Teams is an incredibly useful tool for any modern organisation, especially in the age of hybrid working. You probably know that Teams is part of Microsoft 365, I\u2019ll talk more about Microsoft 365 in another post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teams is THE place to communicate within the Microsoft environment. Obviously for video conferences and instant messaging, but it can be used to call \u201cnormal\u201d phone numbers (\u00a3) and integrates with email. It can store files, create a Wiki, access a planner, view and create to do lists… It can even translate conversations from one language to another during a call. The feature list goes on and on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to my question \u2013 what is it good for, or perhaps when is it good?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microsoft\u2019s intention is that Teams should be used by people who need to work together to achieve a common goal. For example a sales team working together to prepare a tender for a client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great, but…..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is so much more than that, using those features I mentioned above to help people work together, effectively, even when circumstances keep them apart can be very powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We see Teams being widely adopted within organisations, some traditionally office based – marketing, sales etc. But also by home based workers to share information, best practice and simply keep in touch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It allows small departments to create their own space, share files and chat regardless of location. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Large groups of people can participate together – it’s possible to run webinars using nothing more exotic than Teams and a PowerPoint. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regardless of technology, we all (should) know it\u2019s people that make organisations and Teams is just a tool to help those people work together more easily. But lets see if Carbonlite IT can help you use the Office Platform and Teams to work together better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
